about

Folk Police Download Series FPDS 004

Originally released on Cdr in 2008 on Les Enfants Du Paradiddle (ENF 55)

"Yet more essential music from a truly underrated talent" - Simon Lewis in Terrascope Online

"Much to my delight, Davidson has continued producing quixotic music through the years and shows no signs of letting up. There will always be something legendary about the Kitchen Cynics for me. It's amazing how fresh & enthusiastic Davidson is about this after 20 years." - Foxy Digitalis US

credits

released 01 April 2011
A' the Bonny Bumps and Bruises features one traditional song (Boyndlie's Braes) and 21 original songs, including co-writes with Mary Hampton (Scapegoat), Susan Matthew (Leesome Lane and Cell Farming), Thomas Truax (Our Trip to Blunderland) and Adrian Crowley (Petals for Susan). The vocals on Lionel Jeffries, Sunday Morning are by Mike Napier and on Hot Crepes and Lack of Attention are by Eion Henderson. Susan Matthew contributes right hand piano to Leesome Lane and Cell Farming and Duncan Hart plays cello on Jack Longshanks. Some of the songs on this album started life as part of Alan's 2007 limited edition mega-project, A Tune a Day - 365 recordings made on 365 consecutive days, but these are totally new recordings of them.
